I registered with twitter in May of 2008 but did not get serious with twitter marketing until November 2008. Man oh man, did I miss out there for a while! Since then I have added tens of thousands of followers (By the way, most are very targeted thanks to the techniques I teach in TwitterBlast.)
Twitter has proven to be one of the best marketing tools I’ve tried! I have several online businesses which rely on the search engines for traffic. However, my consulting business is in such a very large niche that twitter has proven to be my largest lead AND sales generation tool for Steve’s Classroom!
That is what is so great about twitter! It can be used for driving targeted traffic to sites which are even in large areas like mine. In the past I have always tried to steer beginners away from big areas. With twitter however, I always point out that it is possible to market and get very good traction in a large market using twitter as a marketing tool. Whether your niche area is large or small, effective use of twitter will boost your sales and/or leads…period!
